ah yes, another mother's day come and gone. It's true; I need them; I need the sleep. And Aaron is gratefully doing the dishes while I spew my thoughts onto the web.
It has been a whirl of a weekend. Bryn turned 5: nuts. We threw her a huge party at Monkey Bizness, and a treasure hunt to her birthday gift of a art easel w/ supplies. She was more than excited and twinkled all day. Sometimes I worry that I'm creating mini Ryans with the birthday blasts (my brother over loves his birthday and pouts if it is a smidge less than uber fab) or maybe I'm just over compensating for years of a personal birthday curse (ages 7 -18). Seriously, the twins broke their arms (on separate years) on my birthday, multiple people have thrown up at parties/dinner, and a slew of other regrettable events--I've always hated my birthday and counted it good if it passed without any major catastrophes.
So today, Aaron gratefully took my Val 10 class to sharing time so I could sneak into Relief Society. It is really great to go and actually feel the spirit, instead of bust kids for talking, farting (oh yeah, the boys in my class stink up our tiny classroom every week--it is misery times 7 active boys...stinky swiny boys), hitting, and whatever else. Today I am incredibly grateful that I have 4 girls. The girls made me sweet little cards. Lauren wrote "my mom is buttiful" and Bryn wrote "my mom is smart because she wears dresses."
Plus, Aaron made me fondue for dinner; who doesn't love cheese and chocolate?
But the best news of all came from my sister(in-law), Alys: she's pregnant with her first. I can't wait to see her little person.
All right, on with another week. cheers.
