on my own for the last time...till April?

Aaron is gone, vegas. Woo hoo, me and the ladies are left to kick it. We'll see if I survive. Right now, it could go either way. So Aaron should be hearing back from Smith this week, hopefully he'll be flying out in a few weeks for an interview. I don't know what I want more: for aaron to be finished with ogio or for an opportunity to get out of Utah. Don't get me wrong, we love were we live, I just. I don't know how to explain it. I'm just ready for change.

Last april aaron interviewed with Burton and I thought we had a chance to get out but it fell through. I know "other opportunities" are coming our way, I'm just losing patience. Aaron conducts himself so differently than me when it comes to the workplace. It is hard to sit back and bite my lip. So I bite down harder because I hate when he corrects how I should run the kids and the house. He's been much better so I'm trying to be patient.

My problem is that aaron lives in the box--and he likes it. Or he doesn't want to do anything about it because it takes him outside of the box...the box he doesn't like. Not like me at all. If I don't like my box, I kick and scratch my way out. Does that make me a power bee-otch? maybe. At least I'm making things happen.

The first draft of Nevaeh is almost finished. In March, I'm going to make it into a readable version. we'll see what happens. If nothing, I'm still proud of myself for getting this far.

ok, this is enough blah blah. goodnight.

confessions of a recovering nerd

As a recovering nerd (four years working with computer engineers will contaminate anyone), I guess I fought having a blog because it would somehow resurface my nerdish sublayer. But I think this will help me embrace that sublayer, it does have some good points. For example: I believe in science. Not in a testimony-breaker sort of way, I just love learning about all sorts of sciences.

Anyway, it occured to me last night after I began this blog that in order to utlize the blog for what it will be to me, I must admit something: I am a blog stalker. Not a true blog stalker because I don't read blogs at all...except for two. Well that doesn't really make me a stalker, right? I feel like I am because I don't even know these people. To be fair, I did talk to one of these people many years ago when I applied for a job with http://www.webmonkey.com . Her name is Evany, she was an Editor at webmonkey and I thought she was funny...she posted her blog http://www.evany.com from webmonkey, so I don't feel entirely dirty reading her blog for the past few years. The other person I secretly stalked was http://www.bluishorange.com. I found her because I originally wanted her web address and when it was taken I decided to check it out...I was sucked in.

To be fair to myself, I haven't looked at their blogs in over a year. So I feel I am in recovery. Although, now that I've linked to them, I'm tempted to peek.

the beginning of my babble

so here i am. i don't feel different...yet. you would think i would have done this long ago. in truth i did. i kept a personal blog while i was working. now that i have chicklets, i don't have time. off with the old and on with the new. aaron would laugh at this. first facebook, now my crumbs.
